The kick-off meeting organized in Polish Academy of Science Station in Vienna on January 9-10, 2020 has officially launched the research project under the acronym "GREEN-MAP" - Novel green polymeric materials for medical packaging and disposables to improve hospital sustainability”. The project is coordinated by ZUT and managed by Prof. Mirosława El Fray, who received a grant of 1 168 400 EUR within the framework of the H2020-MSCA-RISE-2019 programme. The project partners are: University of Bologna (Italy), Centre for Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze, Technical University in Budapest (Hungary), companies from Italy, Germany, Holland and Poland and one partner from the USA. RISE projects are aimed at the career development of young researchers (Early Stage Researchers, ESR) and Experienced Researchers (ER). The intensive research program will run for 4 years of the project duration. During this time, the research team consisting of 36 people will spend as many as 239 months in the partner institutions, carrying out five research tasks. The project will be carried out at the Department of Polymer and Biomaterials Science, headed by Prof. Mirosława El Fray, and the Center for Bioimmobilization and Innovative Packaging Materials, headed by Prof. Artur Bartkowiak.
