The Department of Polymer and Biomaterials Science is not only an excellent place for scientific research and student/doctoral education, but also a unit where high school students can develop their talents and skills. In November 2021 we had the opportunity to host a student Dawid Tabaka from the Technical School Complex No. 2 named after Wladyslaw Orkan in Szczecin. Dawid for a month carried out a project entitled "Functionalization of bovine serum albumin with methacrylate groups as photocurable drug delivery systems”. The work was supervised by Piotr Sobolewski, PhD. The research on photo-crosslinkable polymers has been already implemented in our Department for many years, and recently within the OPUS 17 project on the development of new photo-crosslinkable hybrid systems for medical applications, financed by the National Science Center, which is headed by prof. Miroslawa El Fray.
