On November 28, 2024, a meeting of coordinators of MSCA (Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions) projects dedicated to cooperation between scientific institutions and companies (RISE - Research and Innovation Staff Exchange) in H2020 and Staff Exchange (SE) in Horizon Europe took place in Brussels. It was within the framework of the RISE mechanism that the GREEN-MAP project entitled “Novel green polymeric materials for medical packaging and disposables to improve hospital sustainability” was financed, which runs from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2024. The project coordinator, Prof. Miroslawa El Fray, together with 34 other coordinators and more than 30 representatives of National Contact Points (NCPs), attended a meeting organized by the European Research Executive Agency to discuss the most important challenges and problems that arose during project implementation. They discussed in gropus of several members the access criteria for staff at different levels, funding of beneficiaries and participation of entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, in RISE and SE actions. A particularly important part of the meeting was the discussion of solutions that could help bring academia and industry closer together, including through greater involvement of Technology Transfer Centers, Chambers of Commerce or twinning activities involving National Contact Points. The meeting was an opportunity to meet directly with Project Officers overseeing the activities of the consortia, and to establish contacts with representatives of European NCPs and coordinators of other projects. The problems discussed in groups and the possibilities of solving them are to serve the construction of programs in the new financial perspective, starting in 2027.
