Silesian Meeting on Polymer Materials – POLYMAT2025 took place on 29 May 2025 in Zabrze, Poland, marking the 70th Anniversary of the Centre of Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The event gathered over 200 participants, including leading researchers and young scientists in the field of polymer materials.
The scientific programme featured plenary lectures from internationally renowned speakers such as Prof. Minna Hakkarainen (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden), Prof. Baki Hazer (Kapadokya University, Nevşehir, Turkey), Prof. Jannick Duchet Rumeau (Ingénierie des Matériaux Polymères, INSA, France), Prof. Bela Ivan (HUN-REN Research Centre for Natural Sciences, Budapest, Hungary), and Prof. Holger Frey (Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany).
The event featured presentations and discussions focused on:
Synthesis, modification & characterization of polymers
Polymers for medical, environmental & climate applications
Multifunctional polymer composite materials
Five participants represented our university, West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin —Dr. Archana Sumohan Pillai, Ms. Amna Sadiq - PhD student, Ms. Kornelia Kospin, Mr. Nicolas Maciejewicz-Kamiński, and Mr. Paweł Sać.
