Summer School 19-21.09.2022 and satellite Scientific Symposium BalticBioMat 22-23.09.2022 26.07.2022 16:40

The Department of Polymer and Biomaterials Science of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering is implementing the “GREEN-MAP" project titled “Novel green polymeric materials for medical packaging and disposables to improve hospital sustainability”. The project, which is coordinated by ZUT and headed by Prof. Miroslawa El Fray has received funding in the amount of EUR 1,168,400, under the H2020-MSCA-RISE-2019 program. The project partners are: University of Bologna (Italy), The Center for Polymer and Carbon Materials of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Zabrze (Poland), Budapest Technical University (Hungary), companies from Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Poland, and one partner from the USA. RISE-type projects are aimed at developing the scientific careers of young researchers (Early Stage Researchers, ERS) and experienced researchers (Experienced Researchers, ER). The intensive research program has been running since 2020 with a one-year break due to the pandemic situation. The project has already passed the mid-point, and the results were summarized at the June 2022 consortium meeting in Szczecin.

The next opportunity to exchange experience gained during the project will be the Summer School titled "Designing bio-based polymers for circular economy: from green monomers to green polymers" organized on September 19-21, 2022 in Szczecin, in a hybrid format. Those interested in participating in the Summer School (online or on-site) can apply by sending registration form (format:  docx, rozmiar:  1.18 MB). Participation in the Summer School is free of charge, but registration is mandatory.

In addition, right after the Summer School there will be a satellite Scientific Symposium 1st Baltic Symposium on Polymer and (Bio)Materials Science "BalticBioMat" - From Materials Design to Advanced Structures on September 22-23, 2022. It is still possible to participate in the symposium and submit abstracts for poster presentations (these abstracts will be published in the conference materials). Registration of participation in the conference is possible until the end of August 2022. We invite you to familiarize yourself with the scientific program of the conference and actively participate.
